DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

The project began on a ten-acre site covered in nothing but scrub and sand. The house, designed by Cooper Robertson & Partners, was built over a three-year period. During that time the landscape was completely transformed into a lush paradise. Intimate gardens give off each bedroom, and lush planting frames the central pavilion. Using traditional craft techniques, we designed the hand-carved coral stone fountains to animate the space and the pebble work paving. Large palms and small tropical trees, as well as traveler's palms, were transplanted to create a mature-looking landscape in a short time.
